The Genius List by Reginald Williams is pure fun! When I saw the title, I half expected a “wheels within wheels” type of complex story that would be hard to follow, but Mr. Williams keeps it simple and straightforward, or as straightforward as a time traveling novel can be. It is first and foremost a novel for young people. The type of novel I would have loved to have come across when I was a young boy reading Heinlein and Asimov. I highly recommend The Genius List to young readers but make no mistake, adults will enjoy it too. If you are a parent, you can read it, then pass it on to your kids. This is a thoughtful, well-written novel that the entire family can enjoy and talk about together.

There is writing and then there is writing. The Genius List is well written, but well written for a particular audience; young people. Most of the characters are renowned figures from history - Sir Isaac Newton, Napoleon Bonaparte, Genghis Khan, etc. But we get to see them as kids, before they have made their great contributions. I loved this aspect of the novel and Reginald Williams should be commended for coming up with such a great idea. The characters are great. The plot is interesting. The whole thing comes together to make a fun, completely enjoyable novel. I thoroughly enjoyed The Genius List. And I think you will too. No matter how old you are, or what your IQ is, it will be a fun ride.

Genius List by Reginald Williams is a well written book filled with realistic characters, naturally flowing dialogue, and an unpredictable plot. Cindy Sanders was easily my favorite character, but I really liked how some of the other geniuses were well known historical figures like Genghis Khan, Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie Curie, Sun Tzu, Leonardo da Vinci, Cleopatra, and many more. I really liked how the author changed between the characters' perspectives and different time periods for different chapters as it allowed me to not only get a feel for some of the different characters, but also for how events were moving in different time periods. Overall, I really enjoyed reading Genius List by Reginald Williams and if it had been around when I was a teenager, it would have been my favorite book!

Reginald Williams' love of science fiction and space travel is clear as you read Genius List. He keeps his readers guessing what Empress Zelda is planning as the story presents each challenge to the young time travelers. The author’s talent for bringing past masterminds to the future is brilliant. I enjoyed reading theoretically what they would achieve as teenagers and the wisdom, or evil intent, they would have already owned. The ending gives the impression there could be a sequel, or it is stressing how the impact one changed event in a person’s life has a huge effect on future generations. I felt the underlying emphasis that leadership and how you treat people results in the outcome of your goal. Some leaders ruled with intimidation while the one that achieved the most from the geniuses interacted and encouraged them. I would recommend this to teenagers who are fascinated with time travel and leadership.
